The final Safe-H2O-Farm Project Meeting and Conference took place on 27–29 April 2026 at ZALF – Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research, Müncheberg, Germany, hosted by Prof. Claas Nendel and Dr. Ehsan E. Rezaei.
On the first day, project partners discussed final outcomes, reporting activities, and future collaboration opportunities, followed by a visit to ZALF’s research facilities and experimental station.
The hybrid public conference highlighted the project’s main achievements in sustainable nitrogen management, irrigation and salinity control, pesticide reduction, integrated pest management, remote sensing, and socio-economic challenges in olive and tomato production across Mediterranean agriculture, with keynote presentations by dr. Petros Roussos and dr. K. Chartzoulakis on climate resilience in olive production, water stress, precision irrigation, and saline/reclaimed water reuse.
A sincere thank you to the project coordinator, dr. Michela Farneselli from the University of Perugia, and all partners from Croatia, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, Israel, and Germany, as well as the PRIMA Programme, for this valuable collaboration and shared journey toward more sustainable Mediterranean farming!
