On 19 February, The Cyprus Institute organized a workshop at Strakka Estate titled “Improving Irrigation and Nitrogen Management in Olive Groves Irrigated with Recycled Water.”
The workshop was held within the framework of the SAFE-H2O-FARM project. Participants were introduced to the project’s ongoing research, as well as the results of questionnaires capturing olive growers’ perspectives on the project’s strategies.
The event also included a visit to the experimental site at Strakka, where participants explored the meteorological station and soil moisture sensors and learned how these data are used to calculate crop water balance. The workshop concluded with an open discussion on the use of treated water, encouraging knowledge exchange among all participants.
